Rizzola Luigi (1877-1969) Born in Turin makes studying violin, piano, harmony and counterpoint in the conservatory of his city. He began the work of young music director and musician in Italy and abroad. From 1936 to 1940 he directed the municipal band Paisiello of Taranto after the war and until 1953 he directed the band S. Cecilia which subsequently resumed the name of G. Paisiello.

In 1911, during the funeral of his mother in St. Maria Novella in Florence, a small orchestra which he performed live an funeral elegy composed by the same Rizzola entitled "Mamma" (Mother). The elegy, in years, like a Guardone Cesare, manager of the band Paisiello, who invited the maestro to turn it into the funeral march style. In 1937, two years after the Rizzola assumed the direction of the band, the marching "Mamma" was performed for the first time in public since then and is one of the most popular and enforced. Rizzola is also known for another funeral march "Christus" composed in 1945 during the resumption of the Addolorata's pilgrimage after a war break.
